The library offers a safe space for creative thinking, flexible learning, and social justice advocacy. Librarians have a responsibility to build and promote a collection that fosters human rights for all. It’s essential that the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ families and youth be embedded in our collection and daily practice.

To empower librarians and teacher librarians to consciously include and promote children’s and YA literature that reflects the LGBTQ+ community in order to design and create a safe space for all.
