What does a Career Centre Volunteer do?

At the OLA Super Conference Career Centre, we offer job seekers, new professionals and those exploring new directions in their careers. This year we are offering two types of volunteer slots.

  1. Resume Critique: Provide feedback on a resume and/or cover letter.
  2. Career Conversation: Discuss career issues and options or practice mock interview questions.

Why should I volunteer?

We need librarians and information professionals who have experience with the recruitment process to share their experience, knowledge, and insights by donating some of their conference time to the Career Centre. Your participation is vital to the success of the career centre and will be a very meaningful contribution to our profession. A conference discount is offered to those who volunteer.

In addition, volunteers will receive 25% off their Super Conference registration. Please note that you MUST be a current member of OLA to receive the discount and we can not retroactively apply this discount to registrations already purchased.

How do I volunteer?

Please consider donating some of your conference time by following the link below. There is a range of shift options over the three days. Even volunteering for one shift (a 60 minute commitment) can have a huge impact on someone’s career.
