In 2017 and 2018, St. Thomas Public Library started taking fundraising seriously, moving away from our old strategy, and moving towards real infrastructure and an intentional communications cycle. With only a small budget and part-time staffing, we have made great strides over the past year. We will identify the steps we took to get where we are today, and share lessons learned along the way.

Attendees will leave the session with a good understanding of what fundraising can look like in a small- to medium- sized public library, as well as some practical tips and tricks to help them if they are planning to start a fundraising journey of their own. We believe that fundraising truly is “For the People”, as it’s the unique connection we develop with our donors that makes them feel invested in the library’s outcomes.
