When: Friday, Feb 01 | 9:00 am - 9:40 am

Location: ICTC Ontario

Days: Friday. Event Types: Session. Sectors: School Libraries. Subjects: Inclusion, Literacy, and Mental Health.

A look at children’s literature featuring characters who have either issues with their own mental health, or are dealing with family members with mental health issues. This session will help librarians, and guidance counsellors, know what books to suggest the student read to best deal with their own challenges in life. Many students dealing with mental health issues don’t see themselves in books, but those books are out there. Librarians will leave with a list they can refer to when dealing with this kind of student.
