Drawing upon the expanding literature, librarians’ experiences, and our ongoing research on negotiation behaviours of academic librarians across Canada, this interactive session will provide participants with knowledge and strategies they can use in future job offer negotiations. The role playing portion will provide opportunities for exploring “both sides of the table” to reinforce that negotiation should be a conversation and not an adversarial exchange to be feared. While geared primarily to tenure-track academic librarians, this session will appeal to anyone wishing to learn more about negotiation strategies.
