In 2018, Markham Public Library opened its doors to the community and invited them to collaborate, network, and work in a dedicated business space housed in our newest branch. The first year of the Business Hub functioned as a trial period for both the library and the members. The year was spent building a collaborative business community and coming to understand the needs of its members. By the end of this presentation, attendees will have gained an understanding of how to start a co-working space within their library system, strategies for reaching potential members, and the main challenges with managing members, space and expectations.
