The WSIB Reference Library officially opened on October 19, 1988 and celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Today the library remains open to the public and continues to serve WSIB staff across the province. While the library is physically located in Toronto, our services can be accessed by staff in the regional offices. Our current mandate is to move from from a traditional print model where we collect and organize print resources to a more integrated customer focused digital/virtual experience. We started this process with the redesign of the main Library web site in order to improve content, organization, design, and overall functionality. The goal is to eliminate information silos across the organization and to implement a content strategy and information architecture that is consistent across all of WSIB while also providing site-specific navigational requirements. Attendees will learn best practices in conceptual site map design, customer needs assessments, vendor selection, mode of procurement, selection of ILS and LMS solution to the library’s day-to-day activities and branding and marketing strategy used.
