Learn how to connect the public library to residents of retirement homes, long term care facilities and hospice clients in an innovative and meaningful way. The Arnprior Library engaged the community to launch a Music and Memory Program by fundraising to purchase enough iPods and digital music library to circulate individual playlists to these seniors.
The program connects the library to an aging population in an engaging way; augments accessible services; builds community partnerships; raises the library’s profile to the medical community as a source of valuable resources; and expands the library’s non-book collections. Who knew libraries could help reduce medication!
We’ll provide a business plan for fundraising & community engagement; outline the three phase rollout of the program and provide the framework to implement a similar program at your library.
