Location: MTCC 202D

Days: Wednesday. Event Types: Session. Sectors: Careers. Subjects: Careers and Mentoring Special Libraries.

In this session, four recent graduates of an information master’s program share their experiences finding and navigating their first jobs. Intended to be in an interactive panel format, the session will be comprised of three parts. First: finding the job, where we will explore our job searching process, our professional backgrounds, and our advice for current students. Second: nailing the job, where we will discuss our cover letter and resume writing strategies, and interview experiences. Third: surviving the job, where we will discuss our perspectives as early career professionals, our experiences navigating the workplace as new employees, and our challenges and triumphs so far. This session will be of interest to current students, early-career professionals, employers, professional advisers, and anyone who, like us, is trying to navigate job searching in the contemporary information landscape.
