This session provides a data-driven look at what factors impact student attendance at library workshops in the university setting. Using survey responses from providers of 161 library workshops across Canada and the United States, we examined 9 key variables that are widely believed to impact attendance rates (including topic, month, time, duration, advertising, location, target audience, buy-in, and incentives). Analysis of the responses have allowed us to establish which factors did, in fact, have a significant effect on attendance and to offer suggestions for best practices on future workshops. Our approach, findings, and recommendations will be presented during the session, with discussion/questions being welcome and encouraged.
