Are you looking for a way to engage with Newcomers in your community? To shake up your English Conversation Circle program? How about helping build relationships between international and domestic students? The Wilfrid Laurier University Library has partnered with the International Student Office and the YMCA to pilot a boardgame program that will be shared with different public library systems in the area. The key take-away of this lecture is to inspire academic and public libraries to incorporate boardgames into Newcomer and Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada programming. Speakers will discuss the inherent differences between offering these programs in academic and public library settings, and explore further opportunities in using games in Newcomer programming.
