Toronto Public Library has undertaken an ambitious project to develop a service delivery model for public computing, with the goal of standardizing and improving the customer experience across all its branches. This model includes recommendations around resource allocation of computers, peripheries, and Wi-Fi capacity, recommendations around public PC configuration and hardware/software refresh cycle; and recommendations for customer experience improvements and continuous assessment processes. This presentation will cover the process used to develop the model, an overview of the data used to inform the model, and lessons learned about implementation.
