Jane Schmidt has been a librarian at Ryerson University since 2003. Her career has varied and has included acquisitions, collection development, administration, and liaison. Currently, she is the liaison librarian for Child and Youth Care, Disability Studies, Early Childhood Studies and Social Work. She has published on topics ranging from demand driven acquisitions, collection analysis, approval plans, and Little Free Libraries. Her current interests are community-led service, examining literary philanthropy through an anti-colonial lens and re-discovering the pleasure of working with students. She blogs intermittently, tweets prodigiously and would love to show you pictures of her son and her cats.
