Laura Arrizza is the Senior Services Specialist for Older Adults & Seniors at TPL, a position newly created in 2010 to develop and champion library services for Toronto’s aging population.
Her experience is varied and extensive beyond library walls, but includes fond memories of the card catalogue! She introduced many initiatives over the years, including intergenerational programming and informational programming for seniors, job seekers and others. These were novel at a time when adult programming was generally limited to book talks. Developing system wide strategies and services for older adults was and continues to be an exciting opportunity and a good match.
