Nicole has over 20 years of experience in both public libraries and genealogical research. She provided leadership during Oshawa Public Libraries’ Local History Room refurbishment, including collating and organizing the Library’s heritage materials into a cohesive collection. In 2019, Nicole assumed the Local History and Genealogy portfolio full-time and is working to make OPL’s Local History Room an invaluable research collection for the community. In addition to her Library career, Nicole volunteers with community organizations, assisting them in evaluating, preserving and showcasing their historical resources. As a Branch Supervisor, she found that caring about the development of each employee, seeking their ideas and acknowledging their contributions made for a stronger team and a more welcoming experience for the public they serve.
