Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still register and attend?

Even if you missed online registration, you can still register on-site!  The registration desk is open Tuesday evening (5pm-8pm) and starting at 7:30am Wednesday-Friday, and 7:45 on the Saturday.  Review the full reg desk schedule herePlease note that on-site registration is subject to an additional $65 charge (except for Super EXPO only).

I never received my badge in the mail.  What do I do?

Not to worry.  If your badge was not delivered to you before the start of the conference, all you’ll need to do is to stop by the registration desk when you arrive.  The folks there will be more than happy to print you a new copy.

Where is the mobile app?

You can skip your trip to the app store this year – the Super Conference website is now fully mobile responsive, and you can build your program by starring each session you are interested in attending on your browser. If you are viewing the website on a mobile device, you will also have the option to opt-in to push alert notifications. Please note that because you do not have to log in, your sessions will be saved in your device’s cookies and will disappear if you clear your history. I am a Library Technician or Teacher-Librarian working in an Ontario school board. Can I still attend Super Conference in the midst of labour action? | Updated January 21, 2020 at 11AM.

As the Ontario Library Association is a subject association and attendance  at Super Conference is not required by school boards or the Ministry of Education, it is considered self-directed professional development. Various unions have not prohibited members to attending any voluntary, self-directed professional development at this time. Attendees will need to contact their locals to confirm this information and clarify any questions or concerns.  OLA looks forward to welcoming our colleagues to OLA Super Conference from the school library sector – the work you do matters to Ontario’s students.

How do I choose the sessions I want to attend?/ How do I sign up for sessions?/ How do I change my session selections?

You’ll be asked to select your sessions  you are going through the registration process.  These session selections are not binding – they allow us to gauge what we should expect in terms of attendance for each session. If you change your mind later, there is no need to update your selections.

During the conference, sessions are on a first come -first serve basis. Please check out the schedule on our website to plan out your days!

That workshop I just attended was so great!  Where can I download the slides?

We will be making the session materials available after the conference – but there are a lot of them, so please bear with us.  You’ll be able to find them by looking up the workshop in the schedule and opening the description.  There should be a download link there.  If there isn’t, stay tuned!

If you wish to be a convenor please contact your divisional planner.

What is a convenor? Does being one mean I can attend for free?

Session convenors are important to the smooth operation of the conference. You provide the personal touch that is vital to the overall Super Conference experience.

Convenors do not receive registration discounts to the conference, but your name is featured in the final program along with that of your organization. It’s a great way to become known in the library community, to promote the library in which you work, and something to add to your professional résumé.
